We have completed a self-affirmed GRAS assessment for UnSugar Sweet Protein and submitted a GRAS Notice to the U.S. FDA, now assigned GRN 1338. We have asked the agency to confirm it has no questions, and are awaiting its response.
UnSugar Sweet Protein has reached a key US regulatory milestone. We have completed a self-affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) assessment for the ingredient, and submitted a GRAS Notice to the U.S. FDA under its GRAS Notification Program.
The notice has been assigned GRAS Notice No. 1338 (GRN 1338). We have also asked the FDA to confirm that it has no questions regarding our GRAS conclusion, and are awaiting its response.
For research, regulatory and quality teams evaluating the sweet protein for US products, this answers one of the first questions they ask early in a project.
